June & Paul, are two of the sweetest, kindest, funniest souls in the world. I am a big fan of June & Paul’s work, so it was such fun to be able to join them on their wedding journey. I have to send a big thank you to Danielle & Matt who shared the photos we captured at their wedding last year, with June & Paul. On our first meeting, June, Paul, and I sat in the little cafe just down the road from their home in LA, and chatted about their big day over breakfast. As they shared their wedding plans and stories of how they met, I watched how sweet and thoughtful they were with one another. I quickly understood that this wedding was going to be very unique, and very special, a perfect reflection of June & Paul. I was excited to be able to truly document their day! On their wedding day, I was standing near the peaceful circle of love surrounding June & Paul, and as they exchanged their vows, I found myself crying. No, not tearing up….tears streaming down my face. The words they said to one another were really moving. Their mutual admiration and respect is as intimate & organic as the setting in which they chose to exchange their vows. It just made sense. They are meant for each other. Pure and simple. I looked over at my husband Casey, my partner in this business and in life, and I really just felt so thankful for him. June & Paul are like that. They inspire in many ways. What a gift to be able to share your life with someone who inspires you. I’m thankful that Casey and I are able to do what we do together. It is an intimate thing to photograph a wedding & I am so thankful to share that with someone who inspires me constantly. That’s pretty cool….I love my husband. : )
The amazingly talented and equally wonderful Rebecca of Duet Weddings created a rustic autumn celebration with vintage charm, full of thoughtful little surprises around every corner. I’m always just blown away by Rebecca’s translations…she puts her entire being into every single detail. She’s just perfectly lovely. June & Paul’s wedding took place in the hidden hills of the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. I cannot imagine a more ideal setting for a wedding! With Rebecca’s details woven throughout, the setting was simply breathtaking.
The entire day was wonderful. Most of all, I really enjoyed getting to know June & Paul and their families. They’re cool people. Hilarious, smart, kind and so loving! Today, as I look back thru the images from their day, I’m happy. The pictures just make me smile. I’m so thankful that Casey and I were able to photograph this monumental day for June & Paul. June & Paul, I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites…Many more beautiful photos to come! xo, A
June & Paul got ready at the Cheshire Cat Inn….a very sweet bed & breakfast.
Mary Ann Goodhue was responsible for the beautiful calligraphy for the escort cards. Quite impressive!!!
Above, some beautiful natural details from the museum. Below, Rebecca created a “family tree” showcasing June & Paul’s family photos. What a lovely idea!
The aisle was lined with more family photos clipped to twine, keeping in line with the natural and rustic aesthetic. This was a delight to the guests as they walked down to find their seats for the ceremony. Everyone loved it!
This is cool – Rebecca hand painted love-filled sayings onto natural surfaces scattered thru the setting to que the vibe of their celebration.
This is very cool – Casey, June & Paul’s dear friend, sang a special song for the couple, as they walked down the aisle.
June & Paul chose Heidi Rose Robbins as their officiant. Heidi was truly amazing. Her reflections were so right on!
Can we say genius? Rebecca strung ribbons thru the trees on the property and during the ceremony they flowed so beautifully around the setting. Simply amazing as they enveloped the bride & groom!!!
I just can’t say enough about June & Paul! I mean, seriously, June is GORGEOUS!!! She’s just radiant and naturally beautiful! She and Paul make one fabulous couple!
The very talented Camille of Modern Day Design was responsible for these lovely blooms! Stunning and I love how the pastel colors play thru the event. The palette was very calming and complimentary to the setting.
June & Paul entered their reception with a little rendition about the first night they met. HILARIOUS!
The very talented team at Crumbs created this splendid confectionery delight. Yum!
Pure Joy created the fabulous cuisine for June & Paul’s guests.
What wedding would be complete without a toast from Jack?
Danny of Santa Barbara DJs got the party started!
